Using Your Time, Talents, & Treasures for God’s Glory

Using Your Time, Talents, & Treasures for God’s Glory

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

The Journey to Faithful Coffee

Have you ever wondered what you’re supposed to be doing in life? How should you use the job or career path God’s put you in to give Him glory? That’s exactly where I found myself.

We opened our coffee business in June of 2020, right in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. We barely knew what we were doing, and we weren’t saved yet. We were just trying to hustle and make money. I came from a teaching and non-profit career path, and my husband was an RN.

We started going to church regularly around this same time, and once we made Jesus the Lord of our lives, things started to change. Throughout the last several years, through the sanctification process, I started to question how my career in the coffee industry could possibly serve God, but I also had seen how He had worked pieces together in the way only He can to position us exactly where we were. We started using our coffee business as a ministry as much as we could, and we still do, but there seemed to be something else pulling at me.

I knew I loved branding and marketing, building websites and dreaming up business ideas, and the idea of creating a community of women that stood firm in their beliefs and their love for Jesus. What did that mean though? Finally, the idea of Faithful Coffee came into view. I already had the website for Graceful Grove (a boutique I had tried to start) and so the two ideas merged. A lifestyle brand focused on sharing the gospel through pairing coffee and morning rhythms with Bible reading to encourage other women to do the same.

We see throughout the Bible that we are to do all things for the Glory of God. All things. All. Things. I let that really sink in, and this- Graceful Grove - is the culmination of that and a way for me to use time, talents and treasures to serve the Lord. Our main product is our Faithful Coffee line, each focusing on women of the Bible and donating a portion of proceeds to a women’s ministry, and pairing each bag of coffee with a Bible study and memory verses.

On the blog you can expect to find a variety of topics from hosting neighbors and friends, to encouragement through tough seasons, and struggles with motherhood or marriage. The shop will include our coffee roasts, starting with Eve, and also other items that you may find encouraging, evangelical, helpful, or otherwise faith-forward.

So I challenge you to reflect on your how you’re using your time, your talents, and your treasures (money?) to serve God. If you aren’t, don’t worry, just start praying for God to show you ways to get started.
